For our 10th birthday celebration in 2017, Sound City will be expanding to the phenomenal larger waterfront location of Clarence Dock.

We are proud to be working with Peel and Liverpool Waters again to bring an incredible festival experience to this beautiful, historic part of Liverpool.

If you don't fancy the walk from Liverpool City Centre to our festival site, we have a number of easy and convienient options including:


There are public bus services from Liverpool City Centre which run to and from the festival regularly throughout the duration of the festival. Plan your journey with Mersey Travel 

There will be shuttle buses running back from the festival site to Liverpool City Centre on Saturday 27th May and Sunday 28th May (between 11pm and 1am)



Get there by train with Merseyrail, Moorfields (Northern/Wirral lines) and James Street (Wirral lines) stations are just a short walk from Sound City and trains run regularly throughout the day. Enjoy unlimited off-peak travel with a Day Saver from £3.80 for adults and from £1.90 for under 18’s. (Off-peak is after 09.30 Monday – Friday and anytime on weekends and bank holidays). If you're travelling from further afield, we recommend taking a train to Liverpool Lime St station. From there you can walk, catch a shuttle bus or taxi or connect to Sandhills station to get to the festival site. Flying over to Liverpool for Sound City? The nearest airport is Liverpool John Lennon Airport, just 10 miles from the festival site. Liverpool John Lennon Airport receives flights from across Europe abd is just a short taxi ride from the festival site with regular taxis available outside. Or if you would like to travel by train, you can get a train from Liverpool South Parkway (linked to the airport by a short bus link) to Liverpool Lime Street station, with regular trains. Manchester International Airport (36 Miles from Festival Site) with a train service available directly from the airport to Liverpool Lime Street station.


If you fancy walking to the festival, you can follow our walking route from the Royal Liver Building to the festival site. The walk takes you through the historic riverside docklands and will take approximately 20 minutes.

Details of the walking route will be supplied with your tickets.


If you are travelling to the festival by Car then there will be limited amount of parking near the festival site (this will be sign posted). If this is full we suggest parking your car in one of the Q-Park facilities in Liverpool City Centre.
