Sadly, in 2017, the secondary ticketing market remains a disreputable trade in the UK. With a worth of over £1bn a year, it is held that more than half of this is generated from live music events.
Fans of, and artists such as; Ed Sheeran, Adele, Justin Bieber and Iron Maiden have all fallen victim to Ticket Touts cashing in on reselling face value tickets at ludicrously inflated prices. As a consequence of widespread practice and a severe lack of regulation, the music industry and fans continue to suffer.
The panel will talk to artists and managers about the progress being made on the touting crisis and what to expect in the future on secondary ticketing.
